Maxi Love

Happy Friday guys! I cannot believe that August is half way over! Knowing that the end of summer is around the corner is the only bittersweet part of my birthday. That tends to be the same week stores start putting out their fall items and even though I’m looking forward to sweaters & booties, right now I can’t get enough of skirts. Today I’m sharing with you an outfit that is the perfect summer combo to me… maxi skirt, crop top & killer wedges!

I am a big fan of maxi skirts & dresses. I think there is something so simplistic about them and you can dress up and down — which you guys know is something I look for in almost everything 😉 A few years ago I bought my first maxi skirt and as soon as I hit buy I thought, that’s a mistake I’m going to hate it! Wrong – I loved it, and now have a little collection 🙂

There are so many reasons why I love this Lulu’s skirt! The first is that it’s the PERFECT shade of dusty rose. I’m also a fan of either slits or mermaid style maxi’s as they give some definition to the skirt. Thirdly, it is incredibly comfortable and lightweight – its was 85 degrees with HIGH humidity so this was ideal.

Another trend that I’ve been constantly repeating for three summers now is crop tops. I LOVE them!  This one is from a boutique I found while Up North last month. It’s crochet, super soft and pairs with just about any style. If you’ve been on the fence about trying one out, look to find one that you feel comfortable in (there are SO many styles!) and rock it out!

Ok so I have to admit, I was refraining from buying these wedges. I’ve been seeing these Jeffery Campbell wedges on every blogger this summer and thought they looked cute but didn’t want to bite the bullet. Well, while I was at the Nordstrom sale I just happened to look over at the sale shoes 😉 There these babies were! I saw it as a sign to at least try them on and they may just be the most comfortable wedge I’ve ever worn. The lace ups & cutouts are awesome design elements and the color is a great nude. A repeat offender on here are my M.A.C mini’s – I just can’t get enough! This one add’s some edge with the black hardware.

It’s safe to say Ann Arbor has way too many good backgrounds – I guess that means more night’s out (I’m not complaining lol! 🙂 Hope you guys enjoyed this post & have a great weekend!
