Happy Tuesday you guys! Hope your Labor Day weekend was full of fun & relaxation! I cannot believe that summer is “officially” to an end and as much as I’ll miss it I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited for a little cooler temps, cider mills, sweaters & boots! But until then, I will be throughly enjoying the last few warms days we have as well as reveling in still wearing warm weather outfits… because surprisingly enough we are boiling here in Michigan as I type this!
Every year for my birthday JB takes me out to a little dinner. Today I am sharing what I wore a few weeks ago for my first of two birthday dinners! If you know me well I will throw in a Fifty Shades of Grey reference anytime I can, so this seemed like a perfect opportunity 😉
I told you in this post that I’m having a major moment with suede. Before I used to only think of this as a fall/winter piece but this summer I’ve completely fallen for these dresses. Now when you think of suede, it’s usually heavier items but this dress is the complete opposite. Its very lightweight, trust me I was wearing it in 88 degree weather!
This dress is very simple and I wanted to keep my accessories very simple too. My necklace was a gift from my mom for when I graduated and is the PERFECT minimalist piece of jewelry. It works great in layering too but is stunning by itself. I love that it’s just barely there. My earrings I have looked high and low for and cannot find them anywhere so I’ve linked below the most similar item I can find, sorry!
As you can tell it was quite literally all grey shades. I’ve only ever done a head to toe look with all black so it was cool to do something different with another color. This is also a great transition color into fall!
I have to be honest, this dress hugs all the right places, which is a good thing! 😉 It was one of the most comfortable dresses I’ve worn because of how soft & cozy it is.
The detailing on this dress is awesome! The criss cross of the ruching is different than anything I’ve worn and is super flattering. I also have to talk about my bracelet, as much as I’d like to say that is a real Cartier Love bracelet its not… but this one is under $40 and an almost identical dupe! For my girls that love that look of that style this is definitely a perfect budget friendly option!
I wanted a very simple shoe to go with it too and spotted these Stuart Weitzman Nudist look a like’s for under $30! I love steals and couldn’t resist once I saw them. They have a slight silver snakeskin print to them but it’s very subtle that you can hardly notice it. I also paired it with my mini m.a.c. but this time as a clutch instead of a cross-body. I had never thought to take the chain off before but its awesome! Basically two bags in one, so to me its more justified than before 😉
