Happy Saturday guys! As I told you I’ve been super excited for weeks to share with you some recipes with products that I have been loving over the last 4-6 months! Like I said I’ve been cleaning up my diet even more and looking to add more quality ingredients to allow my body to run better and give it sustainable energy. With that being said I want to talk to you about Ancient Nutrition’s Bone Broth Protein. I came across this protein about 6 months ago and I knew after the first week that this is the protein I am sticking with.
Let me give you a little history about me 🙂 I was an avid user of whey protein and had tried several different brands and settled on Formulx and loved it. However about 2 years after being on Formulx which is a whey protein I started developing some issues with it. I would bloat almost every time I drank it and it was just upsetting my stomach more than it ever did. I took a longgg break from protein after that and started to feel SO MUCH better! I was missing my morning smoothies though and needed some more substance and thats where Ancient Nutrition came into play. It was a game changer in protein for me because I had so much energy after I would have it and absolutely no bloat. I have continually had the chocolate flavor in my morning smoothie almost every day since first trying it and have had such better performance, recovery, my skin got even clearer & feel better overall!
If you don’t know about bone broth its time to start learning because the benefits are INSANE! You may have seen it popping up in recipes for chicken soup or even people drinking straight bone broth.
First and foremost it is loaded with type 2 collagen which allows more flexibility in your joints and also contains tons of vitamins and minerals such as potassium, magnesium, calcium, selenium, hyaluronic acid, glucosamine, glycosaminoglycans & chondroitin which both help with reducing inflammation and help with our joint health. It can also help with gut related problems because its easily digestible. It keeps your skin looking youthful & regularly detoxifies it as well as boosts your immune system. I read about people back in ancient times that when they slaughtered their meat, they threw the breasts & thighs to the animals and ate the marrow from the bones along with tendons & cartilage. This was because these parts of the animal are so nutrient dense. All in all there are so many benefits and I am person who always trys something long before I recommend it to someone. I have personally seen the benefits from incorporating this bone broth protein into my lifestyle.
When I found out there was a Pure flavor that I could add into recipes without changing the taste but still adding additional nutrition I was all in! I knew that I wanted to add this into my egg bake that is a staple for me all year long. This recipe is a great one to make on a Sunday and it will last you the whole week. You can add anything you want to it and it will be delicious! I’m showing a veggie one below with the added kick of the Pure Bone Broth. Take a look below for the recipe 🙂

Ancient Nutrition Pure Bone Broth Protein + Vital Farms Pasture Raised Eggs + Califia Farms Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk + Kerrygold Grassfed Butter + Food For Life Sprouted Ezekiel Flax Bread + Simply Organic Crushed Red Pepper Flakes + Veggies + Goat Cheese + Green Onion + Salsa
Add in one scoop of the pure bone broth protein into a measuring cup or bowl.
I added in 4 eggs for this bake, but you can add two to start and keep adding depending on the size of your pan and how many people you’re making this for. This specific recipe will yield a 6 good size slices.
Next I add in a splash – prob 1-2 tablespoons of Califia Farms almond milk for fluffiness. And then whisk the bone broth protein, eggs & almond milk all together and set aside!
Next up – grab your pan, I’m using a 8×8 baking pan that I slicked down with Kerrygold butter so it doesn’t stick. Next pour your mixture in the pan and start adding your veggies of choice. I added in cooked broccoli & cauliflower and heirloom tomatoes.
Next I add in a little of the flax bread for texture. I add in one piece for this size pan and just cut it into little squares.
I also added some green onion, Simply Organic crushed red pepper, salt & pepper for added flavor.
Lastly spoon in a little salsa & crumble some goat cheese on top and you are DONE! Throw it in the oven at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes depending on how crispy you like it – its best a little well done in my opinion 😉
For measurements – I literally just eyeballed everything because the more you add the better it tastes 🙂 And its all real ingredients so you know you’re eating something good for your bodies!
